Nopi at MIR (Maryland International Raceway) was a wonderful weekend. Saturday and Sunday were both beautiful days--not a cloud in the sky. The temperature was cool and the humidity was low so the drag cars were putting down impressive times, aided by the fact that the raceway is close to sea level. Five new national records were set in front of the largest crowds ever at a sport compact drag race event. Race results can be found on the Nopi website. More details about the drag races can also be found on their site.
Agile also had a successful weekend. Hill's WRX had just returned from getting repainted so it was sparkling and Bobby's STi had just had new vinyl put on so it looked sharp. Hill took First Place in the All Makes Engine Swapped Custom class and Bobby won First Place in the Subaru Custom class. Agile's friends at Nopi placed well too. Shawn's WRX from Canton Customs won Best Paint and James' Turbosmart WRX placed in the Top Ten Overall. Car show results are on Nopi's site.
On Saturday, Hill and Bobby had a great spot on the pavement about 4 rows from the drag strip. On Sunday, Hill and Bobby were parked on the main strip with Canton Customs' amazing WRX and the Turbosmart WRX.
